Job Description 

  • Co-Teacher must provide extra assistance to students with special needs, such as non-English-speaking students or those with physical and mental disabilities.
  • Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, and gymnasiums, or on field trips.
  • Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
  • Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
  • Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
  • Observe students’ performance and record relevant data to assess progress.
  • Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods.
  • Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations.
  • Assist classroom teacher to develop appropriate learning centers and instructional materials to facilitate differentiated activities and individualized performance tasks.
  • Selecting and using training / instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing information to supervisors, co- workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.

Job Requirements 

  • Educational Certification is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (Preferably bilingual English & French).
  • Preferably a minimum of three years experience. 
  • Very good command Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with young children. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Flexible, can work effectively in a team.
  • Good communication and Presentable.
  • Flexible and adaptable to different learning situations and teaching styles.
