We will consider each child’s suitability carefully based on several aspects, including academic results to date, previous reports, and personal strengths. This case by case approach ensures that every applicant is fairly considered and is given equal opportunity to join LIS.

We adopt a 4-step application process, as is clearly explained in the admission section.

We can admit students at any time of the year, places are partly filled on first-come-first-serve basis, subject to the availability. Parents can contact our Admissions team to schedule a bespoke tour in the school or to receive more information over email. Each applicant will be asked to complete age appropriate assessments and will be asked to come to school to take the assessment test or have an interview.

Yes. Students must go through the application process, meet our admissions’ standards and then files are reviewed on a case by case basis.

Admission to LIS is based upon the student’s completed application, previous school records, confidential school recommendations and behavior reports, work habits, standardized test scores and / or an on-site admissions assessment, and seat availability. All of our assessments are conducted by a professional educator at our school.

Yes, with great pleasure. We have our Inclusion Department to help our people of determination. Children with mild learning difficulties will be considered for admission on an individual basis. Parents must provide all applicable previous reports and assessments from previous schools and private entities.

At LIS, we accept children from the age of three years and 6 months.

Children can begin school for:
FS1: Age 3.6 by 1st of October
FS2: Age 4.6 by 1st of October

Students who are coming from other educational systems will be placed in accordance with their appropriate grade level and age. They must successfully complete the full grade level before advancing to the next grade level. If a student has not successfully completed a full grade level when enrolling at LIS, the student will be placed in the same grade level to ensure the completion of that grade.

Yes, our bus service is being adapted to meet the needs of new families joining the school. LIS provides transportation for an additional fee and serves most areas in Cairo. Routes are changed and new buses are added to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum journey time. Please contact the Transportation Office (You will find it in the section “How can LIS help you?” for more information.

Our facilities include the following:

  • Purpose built building with state-of-the-art classrooms with smart boards, projectors, air-conditions, reading corner, cameras, among other things.
  • Sporting facilities which include: football courts, kids area for Foundation Stage with private gate, indoor and outdoor multifunctional play areas, and a full equipped gymnasium.
  • Specialized teaching rooms including music, art, science labs, technology rooms, Libraries, ICT suites, and two medical rooms.

School doors start to open at 7:30 am. Formal lessons and activities start at 8:00 am, running through until 2:45 pm with morning break and lunch time.

  • NO Mobile phones are permitted during the school day.
  • NO food or beverages are permitted during the sessions at the class.
  • NO Arabic is allowed inside and outside the classroom since the Instructor should maintain an English / French only environment of bilingual level languages.
