AMERICAN DIPLOMA

LIS is fully accredited by Cognia. Accreditation from Cognia certifies that a school maintains the highest standards in all aspects of its operation including academic and support services. All educational materials used at LIS are obtained directly from publishers in the United States and are specifically designed to conform to the Common Core Standards which assist schools in maintaining uniformity in a student’s education, regardless of their location. The Common Core Standards provide schools with general guidelines regarding the topics students should learn and practice at each grade level from primary to high school.

LIS Students, who successfully complete grades 10-12 of high school, will receive the American Diploma, which is recognized worldwide. Students of our School who receive the American Diploma will be eligible to attend Universities all over the world. We acknowledge that excellence in education presupposes that technology is seamlessly integrated throughout the programs. Thus, we have integrated technology into the curriculum.

We understand the concern some parents may have regarding the External Standardized Examinations that American Diploma learners need to join universities; thus, the school prepares them for the different exams through special test prep classes for the ACT, and EST exams. We focus on building a strong vocabulary, and mastering test-taking skills incorporated in the different syllabus. Moreover, at the American School, we stress the need to identify the different learning styles of each student, and we cater for the different learners’ needs. All courses have been written with differentiated instruction built into the daily lesson plans.
